Outer Atoll Charters.
If you want to discover this remote frontier that few before you have, with just a group of mates, then this is the trip for you.
You will arrive into Male and overnight, the next day you will fly way down South, where your boat will meet you.
A 3 hour sail will have you surfing worldclass reefbreaks to yourself that same day. This atoll hosts at least a dozen documented waves (some featured in Rip Curls - Tripping the Planet video). The costs involved are slightly more than doing the more mainstream charters, however the experience of pioneering this new territory in total solitude is hard to put a price on.
Due to the continuing success of our LIMITED EDITION "Southern Discovery tours" we have 2 vessels operating 6 tours each for Feb/Mar/Apr. 90' Handhu (max. 10 passengers) & 78' Handhu-Fahli (max. 8 passengers) offer very comfortable accommodation (air condtioned cabins with ensuites etc.). 'Handhu' is only 2 years old and Handhu Fahli was launched in early 2005. Historic data shows that there are really only 3 PEAK SURF MONTHS in this region being FEBRUARY, MARCH AND APRIL. We would love to sell more trips to this region however we would be doing you a dis-service by sending you to this remote region at other than PEAK surf time.
Charters are 12 nights and you will acheive maximum surf-time due to our VERY experienced guides. Stu Johnston is the Australian guide onboard 'Handhu" and has been surfing this region for the past 5 years. Maldivian surfer 'Martey' will be the guide on Handhu-Fahli. Martey has been Stu Johnstons apprentice for the past 2 seasons and is very capable. Both boats/guides will be in constant touch with each other regarding the surf and co-ordinating so they will be surfing different breaks, (many breaks work simultaneously) rather than all together.
IN 2008 SEASON HANDHU CHARTERS WILL COMMENCE IN SEENU AND END IN GAAFU DHAAL (TO THE NORTH) AND VICE VERSA.
Handhu-Fahli Itinerary as follows:
Day 1: Arrive Male’ – 1 night at Hulhue Airport hotel located on the same island
Day 2: Fly south.
Days 2 - 14: 12 nights onboard 'Handhu-Fahli' with expert guides.
Day 14: Fly back to Male’ (Spend the afternoon in Male’ before departing on evening flight)
Handhu Itinerary as follows:
Day 1: Arrive Male’ – 1 night at Hulhue Airport hotel located on the same island
Day 2: Fly South to Seenu or Gaafu Dhaal.
Days 2 - 14: 12 nights onboard 'Handhu' with expert guides. Surfing Seenu and Gaafu Dhaal atolls.
Day 14: Fly back to Male’ in the afternoon before connecting with evening flight home.
This is a totally unspoilt region that promises UNCROWDED consistent surf during these months.
