Café Huraa
A brand new state-of-the-art restaurant, Café
Huraa, has two dining pavilions overlooking the pool
and lagoon. For breakfast, guests can look forward to
an extensive buffet of Asian and Continental specialities,
exotic fruits, freshly baked breads and pastries. Lunch
consists of an a la carte menu of salads, sandwiches,
catch of the day, noodles and rice. Dinner embraces
Asian fare with an emphasis on Thai and Chinese cuisine.
The popular theme nights offer tantalising specialities.
The restaurant has a wine cellar that boast an exclusive
selection of the finest handpicked wines.
Baraabaru
The stunningly new Baraabaru restaurant which serves
fine North Indian cuisine is fashioned with an outdoor
deck that extends 25 metres into the lagoon, providing
an exquisite dining experience perched over water. There
is also an exclusive private dining pavilion for special
occasions. The restaurant’s interior exudes the
ambience of a Rajasthan tent with bright colours and
spectacular lightings and has a Tandoor Bar where one
can view the chefs in action. Open for dinner only,
Baraabaru serves Moghul specialities including different
styles of kebabs, various kinds of bread, korma and
makni curries and authentic dum-steamed biryani. The
dining experience is enhanced by the melodious strains
of the sitar and tabla.
Reef Club
Reef Club serves contemporary Italian fine-dining expertly
prepared by Chef Michele Greggio. The restaurant is
located away from the buzz of the main pool area, at
the southern end of the island, with excellent sunset
views. Dining is available outdoors on a wooden deck
or under a thatched roof pavilion. A few tables are
situated directly in the sand. For lunch, the emphasis
is on seafood and homemade pastas, antipasti buffets,
salads, pizzas and original Italian gelati for a light
and casual meal in the sun.
Huraa Barbecue
Located adjacent to the main pool, Huraa Barbecue is
open for dinner, serving fresh catch of the day as well
as choice meats, salads and side dishes from an open
kitchen pavilion. Teak tables and chairs are set in
the sand facing the sea.
Sunset Bar
Located next to the lobby, the Sunset Bar provides the
perfect start to the evening, serving an extensive selection
of cocktails against the backdrop of a stunning Maldivian
sunset. This open-sided pavilion overlooks the jetty
and offers great views of the Island Spa. Music enhances
the relaxed, informal atmosphere while a billiard table
and parlour games provide entertainment.
Poolside Terrace
& Bar The ‘swim-up’ poolside
bar serves a wide range of cocktails and juices with
snacks available throughout the day on the adjacent
terrace. The Terrace offers an exceptional lounging
experience with excellent service and attention to detail.
Several gazebos around the pool provide shade by day
and romantic dining venues by night.
Recreation Activities

The Island Spa
Located on its own private island just a minute away
from the Resort by dhoni (native Maldivian wooden boat),
the Island Spa is a tranquil oasis dedicated to physical
and mental peace, harmony and balance. Specialising
in innovative treatments from India, Thailand, Indonesia
and the Maldives, each of the team of highly-skilled
therapists follows ancient regional traditions using
only the finest natural ingredients. There are seven
open-air thatched treatment pavilions; each is designed
for couples’ spa experiences.
Diving Maldives
is known internationally as one of the world’s
best dive destinations. A large number of excellent
dive sites are located within minutes of the Resort.
The Resort operates its own PADI licensed Dive Centre
which boasts a team of experienced, multi-lingual diving
instructors who conduct courses to improve diving knowledge
and skill. International certification is issued by
arrangement with PADI. The Dive Centre is also fully
equipped with both Nitrox and Air facilities.
Water Sport Centre The
Watersport Centre offers a wide range of group and individual
activities. Non-motorized activities are complimentary
and include kayaking, snorkelling, windsurfing, single
sail and catamaran sailing. Lessons in windsurfing and
sailing can be given by RYA certified instructors on
request. Additional motorized activities such as water-skiing,
parasailing, banana-boating and fun tube are available
at a charge.
The Gym The gym
overlooks the lagoon, providing an inspiring view whilst
exercising. It is equipped with state-of-theart cardiovascular
equipment including treadmills, exercise bikes, rowing
and step machines, each with a personal TV and headphones.
There are also separate changing rooms for men and women
with shower facilities and toiletries.
Swimming Pool The
Resort's fresh water infinity pool has been designed
in harmony with its tropical setting. A shallow wading
pool stretches into a free-form pool that extends right
to the edge of the lagoon. There is also a separate
children’s pool.
Recreation Centre Recreation
Centre offers a wide selection of engaging family activities
including nature walks, marine lectures, windsurfing,
waterskiing (skis for 6 years and above), fishing, guided
reef snorkelling, island excursions, kayaking, cooking
classes and table tennis. On the second floor of the
Recreation Centre, the relaxing Mathigee Lounge has
both indoor and outdoor seating pavilions. Inside, the
air-conditioned pavilion is furnished with comfy sofas,
plasma TV, books, magazines and board games. Guests
who need a partner for table tennis, darts or carom
can be paired with a suitable opponent by the Recreation
Centre staff.
Kuda Mas Kids Club As
part of the Kids for All Seasons programme, the Kuda
Mas Kids Club gives young guests from 4 to 12 years
of age the opportunity to learn more about the Maldivian
island way of life through a wide range of indoor and
outdoor activities, creative crafts and games. Children
can take part in their own dedicated yoga sessions,
go snorkelling with a Marine Biologist or join in a
range of creative activities from cooking classes to
making and flying kites.
The Library Next
to the Sunset Bar, the bright and spacious airconditioned
library features a great selection of books in many
languages available on loan, as well as a selection
of international magazines and newspapers. The Library
is also home to the Marine Biology team and has a long
table and comfortable seating areas where educational
‘Fishtalk’ briefings and presentations are
given to interested guests.
Local Attractions The
Maldives offer a variety of interesting excursions.
From the nearby island of Bodu Huraa (big island) with
its ancient tradition of building dhonis (hand-crafted
wooden boats) to the capital of Male where 70,000 inhabitants
occupy a land mass of 1km by 2km – there is plenty
to keep the adventurous explorer entertained. The Grand
Friday Mosque with its towering minaret dominates the
skyline, and the sheer number of smaller mosques is
amazing. The National Museum showcases some of the past
sultans’ riches, as well as archaeological finds.
There is a colourful market and many tea houses serving
Indian teas and sweet cakes. The Resort also features
day trips to secluded neighbouring and distant islands
for off-site dining or water activities such as diving,
snorkelling and sunning in the private waters of your
own desert island.
